The exhibition of giant Russian Matryoshka dolls was opened in the shopping and entertainment center on May 24. The exposition presented our country in the Russian national exhibit in Paris last year. All the Matryoshka dolls were created and painted by hand. 15 different masters worked on every Matryoshka. In order to attain exact bending and round forms of the dolls, they had to use an ancient technique of wood maceration. For painting design, they chose different styles of Russian national folk arts: "Hohlomskaya", "Gorodetskaya", "Mezenskaya", "Paleha", "Dimkovskaya Toy", "Gjeli", ornamental "Jostov", "Vologda lace" painting styles.
Near every Matryoshka there are small informational stands, which will help you to get to know about
the style of a doll and other interesting details.
Entrance to the exhibit is free!

They are huge!!! Don't think I'll take any home with me, think I'll have to stick to the small ones. :)
